Today in Italy is double celebration!
Pasquetta is the day after Easter (Angel’s Monday) where everyone takes a trip usually outdoor. All the goodies leftover from Easter are a great meal for a picnic and usually is a great day to spend time with friends and family.
This Year Pasquetta falls on the 25th of April, one of the most important dates in Italian History. In 1945 most Italians rose up against the Fascist dictatorship. Most of those people where young woman and men that gave their life for freedom, their name were Partisans. Along with allies in liberating Italy, the Partisans resistance against Fascism contributed to development of peace and the end of WWII in Europe. From the ashes came the vote in June 2, 1946 to form what is known today as the Italian Republic.
